SCHEDULE.
1.The term of the engagement of the person engaged is for three years, commencing from the date of arrival in the Colony, which term may be extended as provided for in Clause 11.
2. The duties of the person engaged shall include the usual duties of the office in which she is engaged, including private nursing, and any other suitable duties which the Government may call upon
her to perform. The person engaged shall reside in such place and occupy herself in such manner as the Government, through its duly authorised officers, shall direct, and she shall not, either directly or in- directly,
7, engage or be concerned in any other service or business whatsoever or receive commissions or profits of any kind, but shall devote the whole of her time and attention to the service of the Government and shall use her utmost exertions to promote the interests of the Government. She shall conform to the General or Standing Orders of the Government and to the regulations for the time being in force in her Department and to the Regulations for His Majesty's Colonial Service in so far as the same are applicable.
3.—(1) Half salary will be paid during the voyage out. Full salary will begin from the date of arrival in the Colony. In this Agreement the period of any voyage shall be reckoned as commencing on the day of embarkation and ending on the day previous to the day of disembarkation of the person engaged, both days inclusive.

her (2) Increments of salary, if any, will be reckoned as from the date from which the person engaged appointment in the Colony fist draws the half or full salary of the office from the funds of the Colony, but no increment will be granted unless the conduct and diligence of the person engaged during the year immediately preceding have been approved. The evidence of such approval shall be a certificate signed by the Head of her Department, countersigned by the Governor or by such Officer as he may designate for the purpose.
(3) The salary of the person engaged may be liable to deductions under Clause 10.
4.-Free furnished quarters (including fuel and light) and uniform shall be provided together with free laundry.
5.(1) "Passage" in this Agreement means a first class passage.
(2) The Government shall provide the person engaged with a passage to the Colony and upon the satisfactory termination of the period of her engagement, and subject to Clause 9, with a free passage back again to England provided that she claims and avails herself of such return passage within one
month from the date of such termination.
6. The person engaged shall be eligible for four months' leave on full salary of which not less than two months and not more than three months must be taken on the expiration of this Agreement, and the balance as desired during its currency subject to the exigencies of the public service.
7-(1) If the person engaged shall be compelled by reason of ill-health (not caused by her own mis- conduct) to resign her office, or if at any time it shall be certified by a duly qualified medical officer employed by the Government or by a Consulting Physician to the Colonial Office, that she is incapable
on physical grounds (such incapacity not being caused by her own misconduct) of rendering further efficient service in the Colony, the Government shall pay her her salary up to the date of such resignation or certificate, and shall if she is in the Colony at the time, furnish her with a free passage to England provided that she claims and avails herself of such return passage within one month from the date of such resignation or certificate, but she shall have no further claim on the Government.
(2) A certificate signed by a duly qualified medical officer employed by the Government or by a Consulting Physician to the Colonial Office shall be conclusive evidence on the question whether or not the person engaged was compelled to resign her office by reason of ill-health within the meaning of this
clause,
8.—(1) If the person engaged shall at any time neglect or refuse or from any cause (excepting ill- Dismissal. health not caused by her own misconduct, as provided in Clause 7) become unable to perform any of her duties or to comply with any order, or shall disclose any information respecting the affairs of the Govern- ment to any unauthorised person or shall in any manner misconduct herself, the Government may dismiss her, and on such dismissal all rights and advantages reserved to her by this Agreement shall cease, and she shall be liable to repay on demand the amount paid for her passage to the Colony.
(2) The person engaged shall, if called upon by the Government so to do, submit to examination
by such medical officer as the Government may designate for the purpose.
(3) A certificate signed by a duly qualified medical officer employed by the Government shall be conclusive evidence on the question whether or not the person engaged has become incapable of perform- ing any of her duties by reason of ill-health caused by her own misconduct.

9-(1) The Government may at any time determine the engagement of the person engaged on Determina- giving her three months' notice in writing or on paying her one month's salary, and in either case, if she engagement. is in the Colony at the time, furnishing her with a free passage to England provided that she claims and
avails herself of such return passage not later than one month after the expiration of such notice. She will be granted such leave on full pay (other than casual leave) calculated proportionately in accordance with Clause 6 of this Agreement as may be unexpended on the expiration of her service as so determined, and if the leave so granted is insufficient to cover the period of the voyage home she may with the special consent of the Government be granted half-salary for the remainder of the voyage.
(2) The person engaged may, at any time after the expiration of three months from the commence-
ment of any residential service, and while serving in the Colony, determine her engagement on giving to the Government one month's notice in writing, or on paying to the Government one month's salary,
and in either case repaying the cost of her passage to the Colony. In either case, she shall not be entitled to a free return passage to England.
(3) If the person engaged terminates her engagement otherwise than in accordance with this Agree- ment she shall be liable to pay to the Government as liquidated damages three months' salary and the cost
of her passage to the Colony.
(4) If the person engaged marries during the period of her engagement all rights, benefits and advantages under this Agreement will be determined forthwith. The Government may, however, in such
event agree by writing to continue the employment of the person concerned from month to month, subject
